Spanish is offered at each elementary within the district. This year, all students K-5 will have Spanish as one of their Co-Curricular classes on a rotating block schedule for 45 minutes either once or twice each week. Spanish is also offered to the littlest learners at the Early Childhood Center.
It is my pleasure this year to serve at Bailey Lake Elementary.

Our Elementary Program
The goal of the elementary Spanish program is to introduce elements of language learning and culture to our students. Children's brains are incredibly receptive to learning new languages, and, as a result, tend to 'pick up' new languages faster than adults. While each class only meets in 45 blocks either once or twice a week, the elementary program is designed as a spiral; topics are introduced in early grades, then revisited and built upon each year, allowing for students to incorporate new concepts while feeling confident about what they can already do with the language.
Unit-Based At-Home Connections
Here are some ways to review (or learn for the first time!) what your student has been working on in school at home together:
-Ask your student to teach you their new vocabulary! Topics we have studied include...
-Help your older student (3rd-5th) practice for an optional quiz, or ask about their optional homework!
-Check out some of the videos, links and resources provided here!
